Default $450 Credit @ Lexus... fsport springs?

I have a 2008 GS350 AWD stock other than tints and stereo... Lexus gave me a $450 credit and I was thinking about having them put that towards fsport springs when I bring my car in for service today. I am under warranty for another 3 years, so not really going to need the credit for anything other than my 60,000 service, but I only have 32k on the car now... Any better ideas or are the fsport springs a good idea?

id use the credit to buy the springs but have them installed elsewhere or else you'll be spending a lot more than 450 at the dealer.

I would do the F Sport sway bars before the springs. I noticed an immediate change to the driving characteristics of the car when I did the sways. Springs and shocks lowered the car and increased the harshness of the ride with some improvement to the handling but most the the improvement in the handling seemed to come from the sways.

Went with the Sways... Didn't want to deal with the voided warranty for my suspension. NO WAY I was going to have the dealer install the springs... McGrath Lexus in Chicago wanted 2.5 hours a side for spring installation! Lets see how long it takes me to change my mind...

Sways are ordered... Should I have the dealer install to avoid issues or would you recommend going to my mechanic for this? He said he would install for about $200. Dealer wants 2 hours for front and 2 hours for rear.

how much per hr? calculate it out.

You trust your mechanic more or the dealership?

Good choice on going with the swaybars. I think you'll love them! And as for getting them installed at the dealer...I think they want something like $80 per hour so ask yourself is ~$120 more worth it to have the 1 year warranty and peace of mind at getting it done at the dealership? Swaybars are plug and play and won't need to do any other tinkering unless you experience a knocking sound, which are caused by the bushings. However, they should be replaced by new bushings by now. Good luck and let us know your impression of it!

I'm also considering sway bars or springs on my 07 350 AWD.
I've read all of the issues with springs but I HATE the look of the stock height with stock wheels. I'll likely do the wheels, too but springs/sways are cheaper.
Could you guys post some photos of your AWDs with the springs/sways? ( i guess the sway bars wouldn't be visible...) thx!

I have the F-Sport springs and sways also. I think I paid more for the install than the springs themselves; I installed the sways myself. If you can change your oil you can definitely change your sways. Easy as pie and you'll know it was done correctly.

I'd jump on a F-Sport intake first.

Most members have expressed disappointment with the intake. If you're going for a performance change with F-sport line and $450, I'd go with sways or springs. BBK is probably the only other enhancement that will give any real improvement in performance, but these cost much more than $450 of course.

Intake and exhaust mods of any kind (except supercharger, etc.) are purely cosmetic on the 3GS.

True, but at least changing the oem air filter to a high air flow intake, will let her breath better. Whatever the case, props on the sways.
