Default 2007 gs 350 won't start clicking noise

Tried starting my gs this morning to go to work and it wouldn't start....soon as I depressed the start button with foot on the brake the gauges illuminated....but there was a clicking noise and the car wouldn't start. The lights in the car came on after depressing the start button followed by a clicking noise after which the car didn't start. Any help would be appreciated...thanks as always.

sounds like a dead battery....dead enough that it can't turn the car over

It happened to me before. Get a new battery if you still have the original battery in your car. Jump start would not help much since the battery will die again. I got a Duralast from Autozone for $100 and it has been fine.

Definitely is a dead battery. Take the old battery to the Lexus dealership exchange and buy a new one. Don't get the aftermarket batteries because they are not as good as OEM.

Check your ground cable to see if it is tight before you change the battery.

do you drive it every day?

if the car has been sitting for weeks, you can recharge the battery.

if you drove it yesterday, and it's dead today, time to change it.
