Please Help! Front Ride Height Sensor
I'm new. I was hoping someone could do me a favor. I just bought a 2007 gs350 and now I'm broke. The AFS light is blinking because the front ride height sensor is missing the rod attaching the sensor arm to the lower control arm. It looks like a barbell with a side bolt and nut coming out of the end. I need someone to measure it so I can build a replacement. Lexus does not sell it as an individual part and want $600 for a new sensor. Ouch!!!
The easiest way to see the rod is after turning your steering wheel to the far left. The sensory is on the front driver's side. I need the distance between the rod's bolts. Also could you tell me where your sensor's arm is (ie between 2-3 oclock position)
Its a lot to ask for a stranger but I would appreciate some help.
Thanks in advance.

Yes should be near the sway bar link on the drivers side. I think the rod's middle part is threaded and has adjustable nuts.

The 3GS is old enough that these parts should be in ample enough supply through various wrecker vehicles. Call around some of the yards in your area and ask if they have the part or any 3GS models that it could be pulled from.
Does the AFS light still blink at you even if you disable the AFS? If anything were to go wrong with my AFS system and I could just disable and ignore it that's the route I'd take.

Nothing happens when I press the AFS off button. With the AFS light blinking the system is already disabled and it sends an error code that the lexus diagnostic computer can read.

Here's another option, call around to some salvage yards and see if they have your model, you might be able to grab the part you need from them, assuming the car was totaled from behind or the side.

Kuleaze, I can't find the car at any salvage yards. I found one place in FL but he refused to sell me the rod without the sensor. These guys know the dealer prices of the sensors too...

Thanks
It's alright. I just Had it welded actually at a local metal shop. After he welded it together, he built it up around the break. It doesn't look pretty but once i put it on, no problems! I didn't even have to adjust it. Even after a month of having it off, I could still see the mark of the original place of the nut. Thanks for checking man.
