Remote light blinking
Yesterday I noticed that the red light on the remote fob was blinking. What does this mean? It happened a couple times before and didn't know why this was happening. It goes off eventually when I am away from the car.
Thanks

I wonder if its trying to tell you that the battery is about to die. Is it acting normally from a distance. I would just call my service advisor

I work at the Parts Dept at Lexus of Westminster and I have changed many batteries here and I've never had a customer tell me that their light was flashing before. I have also never seen this happen. It may still be the battery but just letting you know that I've never seen it happen before. I will look into it and try to find out more about it.

Yes please do. I just checked today and when I grabbed the door handle it blinked a few times after I did this. I thought it was the battery, but I just changed the battery and then I also used the other fob key because I thought this was the reason too. Both keys are doing this. Approximately how long do these batteries last?

These batteries last about a year to a year and a half.
I just checked with my service people and they told me that the blinking on the fob light was a result of the communication between the fob and the computer system in the car. He told me that this is normal and always happens whenever the fob is taken near the car and starts communication. I've had my car for over an year and didn't notice that at all. I guess I'll be more aware next time I get near my car.
I hope I was able to answer your question and thanks because you made me learn something new. =)
