Default Refinish Center Console Wood

Anyone know of a vendor that would refinish my console wood. I see a lot of threads about self refinishing, but would like a professional to handle this one.

Let me know if you have any ideas.

Thanks in advance.

Just get it painted and call it a day.

Yeah, I will probably avoid painting my wood console. Hopefully someone has had this done before.

When you say "refinish" are you looking to change the color or are you trying to restore the existing finish and remove the scratches & swirls?

Sorry, I should have clarified.

I am looking to restore the look. Remove scratches, etc.

I was able to pick up an 08 console cheap for my 07 and may need to do a little work on it.

The coating over the wood is just a clear coat similar to what is on the outside of the car. A good detail shop should be able to polish it using a buffing compound and some wax. The hardest part is keeping the wax off of the leather surround and out of the cracks, but if it is not installed yet it should be really easy.

I am going to do this too. I think if you just use that blue masking tape around the areas you don't want polish on it be easy. For fine scratches, 3m finese-it is really good.

just pull it out out. very simple to un-install, clean it up and put it back. there's a sticky on here on how to get the console up.

acutally gave it a shot, removed the center console and buffed it. Basically made it bit more shinnier, fine scratches is bit diminished

I use Swissvax cleaner fluid and wood wax. It works perfectly and leaves the wood looking brand new.

Somone told me to use scratch X from meguiars, but you really got work for it. But as everyone has said it has a clear coat so you can easily buff it out.

Treat it like you would your clear coat on the exterior paint... if one buffing compound doesn't work, then use one with more grit to it, follow up with a finer buffing compound, then wax it.
