Default Headlight adjustment problem

I have a 2007 GS 450h. I replaced the driver side low beam bulb and then adjusted the light to match up with the passenger side low beam (it was a little higher than the passenger side). While doing this, the light was adjusting fine and then all of sudden it dropped and now just points down. Its like it fell out of place. I can move it by hand from where you change the bulb out but it just stays pointing down. Any suggestions on how to get it back in place? Thanks for your help.

did you adjust the headlights while the car was on? maybe the auto-leveling system thinks it's level.

The car was off when it happened. It seems like it fell out of place or something.

try readjusting the headlights while the car is on. you don't have to turn on the engine but have the headlights on. see if that fixes it.

Ive tried it with the lights on and off and the car on and off. It just seems out of place. The only time it will move is when I move it with my hand from where you replace the bulb. Adjusting with the screw driver is doing nothing. Like I mentioned in the original post, the light just dropped while I was adjusting with the screw driver.

sounds like the adjuster ran past it's normal travel. Try to position the light up by hand as you adjust it "upward" in order to get it to catch again. If that fails, it may be that the adjuster is broken.

This was the fix. If I were a little more patient and waited for more responses I would of saved myself and hour or so by reading this post. Anyhow, I got inpatient this afternoon and messed with the light and after about an hour of nothing working, this is what I did and it worked perfectly. Thanks for everyones help, and hopefully this can help someone else that may experience the same.

You're a long ways away from the forum for that particular car. I doubt Lexus has employed the same adjustment systems 13 years later.

I've had the same problem, kept turning the passenger side low beam, until I noticed the projector just "dropped" or seemed like it fell out of the range of travel. I've tried opening the clear cap to get something to hold the projector up while I tried adjusting the vertical ****, it doesn't seem to get it to catch. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to bring it back to the dealership?
