Default 10" wheels in front

anyone ever tried 20x10" wheels in the front of 3gs? Thinking about going 20x10" all the way around and wondering how much rub i would get. I see some guys running 20x9 with aggresive offsets and wondering how much different it would be with 1" wider wheel with a moderate offset. btw the car will be sitting stock height.

It will destroy your car's handling. You will have a lot of understeer and reduced acceleration.

I'm curious to know if you could even get 10's in there without hitting the springs/coilovers. I forget just how close it is to begin with. But as Batman said, you'd really lose out on handling.

Go for it! Be the first!

I'm thinking about ordering 2 10" for the rear then test fit them up front. If they don't fit i'll just order the 8.5" Just wanted to know if anyone has tried it or opinions. I hadn't thought about the spring clearance. Would +35 offset or +45 be good for the rear? I know +45 is what is recommended but will +35 clear the fenders at stock height?

I don't know about 10's but if you look in the Official 3rd Gen GS Mod thread, page 25, post #364, SanseiGS43 ran a 20x9.5 and 20x11, which is one of the widest fitments I've seen.

You should try a 20x20

My question is why would you want too? Mr Mark has a 20x9.5 with a low offset in the front whats wrong with stagger fitting the car??

I want a 4" lip all the way around. I'm not the type to do what everyone else does. I like to be different. Almost all the cars on here have a staggered fit.

Thats what i'm trying to find out. If you have a 20x9.5 with low offset, why wouldn't a 20x10 work with medium offset...only half an inch wider. I wonder how much space is between the tire and front suspension ?

Do you have an AWD model ? Is that why you want x10 in the back & front? I just dont see any other reason why you would need such wide wheels in front....

You would rather have a 4" lip all round than have a car that drives right. Do you realize how dumb that sounds?

So how do you know how it drives if you never tried it? I find it hard to believe 1/2" would cause the car to not handle right. I won't be racing it. U need to watch how u say things outta your mouth buddy. I'm sure guys with gs's slammed to the ground with the wheels sitting at damn near 45 degrees don't handle good either. It's just a friggin' question so no need to get your feathers all ruffled!

^ Relax. It's your car. If you want to mess up the handling to get the look you want, that's your prerogative.

thank u!!
Here is what made me think of doing it. Here is a photoshopped pictue of some vertini wheels and it looks like they put the rear wheels in the front. It looks pretty good to me.... if it would work.

^ im pretty sure they didnt. its probably a 9" wide wheel. if you really want a 4" lip up front, go custom and get wheels with a custom offset so you can get the 4" lip that you want.
