I purchaed my GS 350 in December of 2009. No engine noises. Somewhere around 7000 miles I started to hear a noise from my engine. It only makes noise in gear. It sounds like a diesel engine or percolating type sound. The dealer told me it was the High Pressure Fule Pump Assembly and this is normal.
Has anyone else experienced this and what was the fix ?

Firstly, welcome to CL.

Yes, the noise is normal (and extensively discussed in numerous threads here, so please use search). The sound is a little more pronounced when the car is in gear simply because the engine is under more load.

You have an engine that has the power of a v8 but the fuel economy of a 4 cylinder. The noise is the sound of technology.

My wife wanted an A6, but I found a good deal on an 07 GS 350, & she hates the sound of the engine. I will never hear the end of it. I'd rather have the 48 less horsepower....
