Does anyone know what size the speakers are located in the door?
Hey guys, I need help. One of my mark levinson speakers is blown in my driver side door and it will be replaced pretty soon. Do ya'll have any good suggestions? I'm about to pull the trigger on some polk mm6501 and I'm just going to buy 2 pairs to replace the front and rear door speakers (they are the same size right, are they 6.5" OR 7"?) I am also wondering if the mark levinson amp will be strong enough to push the polk component speakers. Btw, i also have a system set up in my gs, I have a pair of jlw610 and a jl 1000/1v2 amp. I would really appreciate ya'lls help.

Hybrid Audio Technology- I have the Legatia 6's and L1 Pro tweeters- they sound awesome! I am running a JBL MS-8 signal processor to "sum" the output from the headunit and running separate outboard amps,,,, The ML amp only puts out @ 30 W per channel
Just the 2 x Midbass and tweeters plus subs sound better than all 11 ML speakers / amp that came with--

to add to this You will need to add some type of signal processor I would recommend the Jl audio clean sweep along with 4 IS module to make sure you still have fad and left to right. At least this is what I'm putting in mine in the next month or two after the car get back from paint.

Thanks for the layout. 8" rear sub only!
I have been wondering about an improvement on the ML system. The shop expert suggests
1/ replace the front speakers, they don't sound as good as the rears.
2/ disconnect the centre front
3/ fit sub at the rear of the trunk firing through the ski hatch
4/ a good amp to drive the above
I am not particularly interested in stereo image or front/rear balance, but good hifi sound. Does the shop recommendation make sense? Would appreciate all comments.

SuperGook - Check the link I posted- the speakers are not cheap- but well worth the money! If you really want to run Hertz speakers- I will sell you the HSK 165's that I tried first- used for @ 1 month... the owner of the company has won several SQ competitions on a National level- he knows "quality sound."
The details of my system-
I am running a JBL MS-8 signal processor out of the ML amp (to retain the factory headunit control along with hands free phone features) from the MS-8 I am running front channels off a Sound Design Picasso Amp 4.540 and 2 x JBL Mono sub amps driving 2 Dayton 10" Titanic subs. The system is "tight". My wife thought I still had the center channel, rear doors and rear surrounds playing when she listened to it. She was amazed at the liveliness of the soundstage. Now she wants to borrow my car every chance she gets. 8-)

The sub is 10"- best to run a line converter or get an amp that takes line in input if just adding a sub and use the output of the ML amp and use a separate sub. (disconnect the ML sub) Search on the site- one of the guys here did a pretty cool sub that is made just for the GS and fits in one of the side wells of the trunk.
