I was surprised that 450h warranty was more than 350 because the only difference between the two cars is in the hybrid components. However, the hybrid components have a separate 8-year / 100K miles warranty. Go figure...

+1 for all said above.
Troy and Jerry are both awesome. I used Troy for my Camry before I bought my Lexus. I heard about Jerry then, and had both quote me. Jerry beat him just like said above, and was just as friendly.
Side note...Jerry has quite a few dealerships in his family, and can get these same great deals on other manufacturers as well.
Call either one of them and you won't be disappointed.

Just ordered our 8 year/100,000 mile, 0 deductible warranty for the new 2008 IS350 from Jerry Johnson.
Great price ($1960) and great friendly service! I highly recommend giving him a call if you're looking for an extended warranty.
Ben.

I currently have an 06 gs300 with 67k miles on it so it is waaay out of warranty. I just purchased a 4 year 48k extended warranty which starts now. I was charged $195 down and it is $95 per month for 18 months. It is a platinum plan and can be used at any dealer or certified mechanic. $50 deductible. It is about $1900 total but I guess that is what I get for waiting until now to buy it. Does it sound outrageous?? I looks like everybody was paying around 1,500 but I know how much the repairs cost and this is my 3rd Lexus. I have had to use my extended warranty on my other Lexus cars, so it always paid off.... any feedback on the cost though?

It was offered to me as a "platinum plan" but not specifically a Lexus platinum plan.... It covers the same parts etc. I did not have any trouble finding an extended warranty plan now that my original has expired. For me, it was buying one that covered the major issues and selecting one that had a zero or low deductible. I also liked the payment plan instead of paying it all up front. I just thought it was a bit expensive...

a bit from personal experience:
aftermarket extended warranties(non Lexus) - basically i got burned on my GS, I did have over 100k miles when i signed up so i got a "basic" plan which covered major repairs but denied anything minor. Their claims took forever and my mech didn't want to deal with them after 2nd claim. I really should've researched more and read the fine print before agreeing.
Lexus Platinum - paid for itself on 1st dealer visit. My only problem with it so far is it does NOT cover TSIBs and if something isn't broke yet but just needs 'adjustment'(loose glovebox is a perfect example) - you're stuck. BTW: this a great list of whats covered or not(so school your service adviser when you take it to dealer).
