Default Cabin Filter - FRAM Fresh Breeze

hi,

for the FRAM Fresh Breeze cabin filter, should the arrow be facing up towards the roof of the car OR down towards the ground?

the arrow points to what they label as "Air Flow", but i'm not sure the direction of the flow.

thanks for everybody's help.

I don't have a 3GS, but you can turn on the fan and feel the direction of the air.

Or wait til someone else response

i just actually found another post right now in the RX forum that states the opposite....the arrow pointing DOWN. can you or anybody else verify?

"I also found the “FLOW” indication printed on the side of the filter confusing as the OEM has an “UP” along with an arrow printed. A quick look at the old filter indicated which way was “UP” (it was the opposite of the OEM). In other words, the OEM “UP” is up (like towards the roof of the car) whereas the Fram “FLOW” is DOWN (like towards the floorboard)."

the dirty side is the side that is facing up. i assume that means the air is blowing downwards. i.e., airflow is going DOWN?

however, i see the fan on the bottom side - unless it's pulling in air?

You're correct. Airflow is going down so the arrow should point down. It wouldn't make sense to for the fan to push air into the filter.

Default Cabin air filter

Hi,
I am the tech manager at Fram. All cars are different but a great rule of thunmb on cabin air filters is the arrow points opposite of the dirty side of the filter. We are actually considering replacing the arrow with the word "up" to help make sure they are installed correctly. Any other filter questions, i am happy to answer here or at jay.buckley@honeywell.com
Thanks for using fram!
