How To: Remove inside door panel
Hey guys,
I just got my CPO 06 GS300 AWD w/ ECP ~40k miles. There is a rattle on the inside door handle on the front passenger door. The dealer says they removed and re-installed the door panel and added more insulation. Now the door constantly creaks, it didn't creak before! The creaking noise is a new issue. The rattle is still there.
Finally I looked into the source of the rattle myself. It happens to be the plastic part (0501-69283) on the inside door handle that is finger loose. A tiny piece of paper inserted in the bottom gap solved the rattle.
But the creaking noises coming from the door panel after the dealer took apart the door is something else. It looks to me the dealer didn't put the door back on tightly because when I pull on the armrest the door panel flexes a lot more than the other door. There is also 1/8" gap between the door panel and the door. Maybe they took out a few clips. Or maybe the insulation they say they added is the reason for the large gap.
How do I safely remove the inside door panel and put it back? I want to inspect behind the door panel before I tell them to undo what they did to it. Anyone got pics?
