The DIY Change Cabin Filter Example in the 3GS Frequently Asked Questions and DIY thread is actually for an IS 250/350 and is not quite the same as for our GS 300/350/430/450h/460 cars. The disassembly is a little bit different. 1) The other DIY does not mention that you must start your car a make sure the A/C is in the RECIRC mode before you shut off the engine. 2) Our shelf pulls straight out and has no tabs to lift and pull sideways to release. 3) You must lift up the top seal cover that is over the filter (it rotates when you lift up its front end) before you can release the two end tabs (the IS has three tabs). Make sure the filter direction of flow arrow is in the same direction as the arrow on the filter housing. I found out after removing the housing that my filter had been installed with the flow arrow in the wrong direction.

Are you going to post up a "true" DIY with pics?

This is very easy to do and its also in your owners manual. This is also covered in several threads on the GS section. How about someone post a real DIY thread with pics and we can update the FAQ section.
