Bushwack

For a few weeks I've been tolerating the squeaking (more like screeching) of my brakes. But this afternoon, it became intolerable. Moving forward, the brakes let out a loud screech towards the end of coming to a complete stop. This only happens when the brakes are cold (i.e. the first 3-4 times I apply the brakes). In reverse, the noise is even louder and in reverse, the screeching occurs when the brakes are hot or cold.

The car has 21,000 miles. A month ago when I took it in for an unrelated warranty repair, I complained about the screeching. Service rep said the brakes didn't screech and that I have 70% front pads remaining and 60% rear remaining. The brakes perform well. It's the screeching that has not only become intolerable, but embarrassing.

Question....is there a TSB released about this problem? If not, would this be considered a warranty repair or just a 'wear and tear' issue?

I have a 07 GS350 as well that i bought CPO in Feb 2010 with 47k on it and it had the same problem you described. I took mine back and it was repaired (caliper/pads) under warranty. I think there was some knind of a recall on this from what my service advisor told me. Otherwise... i doubt they would have fixed it for free.

My squeaking went away after 20 minutes and 6 laps around the track!
