Not sure why you had those sound problems.

I agree...I think they could ditch the cassette players in the GS's, and instead put in an aux-in jack. Probably charge the same, and increase their profit slightly too. Oh wait, that would make sense...

well the ones in japan have md players in there.. im just sayin, it can be used for something other than a tape player.. maybe even a usb port for a memory stick or something..
