Default voiding my warranty?

I just picked up a used 07 gs 350 awd from a Toyota dealership and bought 100k 5 yr warranty along with it. are these different than actual Lexus warrantees? they said 100% covered for any problems minus brake pads. as long as I do oil changes regularly. I'm wondering what exactly voids this warranty? I read another post on F-sport parts and it struck my curiosity. I wanted to install a subwoofer. does that void anything? also if I get aftermarket suspension (I was thinkin tein coils w/ edfc), and aftermarket wheels. also, do they make F-sport coilovers for my car? sorry for the noob question, I'm comin from the Honda world and we don't give a crap about warrantees cuz hondas are like legos. thanks in advance

Should have asked your salesperson that first question?

Wheels shouldn't affect any warranty.

Sub probably wouldn't really affect anything either. It should be fairly easy to put back to stock so...

There is no F-Sport coilover. The springs work on the AWD though.

chapagetti, was the car CPO? If it was it should have covered a 3 year/100k engine warranty. the 5 year/100k im guessing covers everything?

it will only void your warranty if they can prove whatever you installed caused the problem. if you put a sub in and your engine locks up, they have to cover you. if you install a suspension and say a cv axle goes because your too low, then obviously you'll have to pay out of pocket for it.

Can't be a CPO if he bought it from anyone other than a Lexus dealership.

Certified Pre-Owned...

Just wait til you have to use the warranty.

Doesn't matter what he said (and he's wrong about the defect part). I get really suspicious when they say things like 100% covered except for brake pads (there are other consummables that are probably also not covered like engine and cabin air filters, spark plus, windshield wiper blades, brake rotors, etc). What matters is what is in writing, even the small print.

Anyways, is this a Lexus extended warranty or some third-party warranty (or did I miss where this was answered earlier)?

I'm assuming it's a 3rd party warranty.

How do you buy a Lexus extended warranty from a non-Lexus dealership?

When you buy a non lexus warranty that they call a lexus warranty because they're applying it to a lexus (and you aren't that smart).

Also many places sell cars are "Certified Pre-Owned" when all that they mean is that it's be certified with the safety (or just certified by the receptionist as being for sale) and it's pre-owned!

yeah I'd guess 3rd party. I have to check my papers I guess. yeah it sounded a little wierd that he said everything was 100% covered except brake pads. I guess I'll just have to wait till something brakes. he claimed that their warranty is much better than the standard Lexus warranty. lol thanks for the info guys.

i highly doubt its better than the lexus extended warranty. fact is he cant sell a lexus cpo unless he is a lexus salesman and your getting it from a lexus lot. on top of that toyota will not offer a lexus extended warranty.

Some States have a right of recision (sp?) on extended warranties, meaning you have x number of days to cancel it and get your money back. Might be worth considering if yours is one of those States, and if so, taking that money and buying the Lexus warranty (but the car has to be inside the 4yr/50,000 mile factory warranty to purchase the extended). It's up to you, of course.
