Default Brake noise TSB question

hey guys . Like many of the members I have a bit of annoying brake noise from my GS350. Its very noisy and I feel like its gotten worse over the last month. I have had the brakes cleaned off 3 times at the dealership with no luck. I finally got frustrated enough to call my service advisor and he said that they can switch the pads to a different set . He told me that the new ones will be quieter but they will lose bite. I was wondering if anyone has had the brake TSB done and how do the brakes feel relative to the original pads. He described it as " the brakes will feel like the brakes in an ES". Any input would be appreciated.

let me know what they do. I am hoping its fixable. I will get an aftermarket kit in the future to remedy the situation. The kit I had on my G35 was less problematic, more durable, and cheaper than the oem stuff.

The dustless or squeak-less pads are not high friction pads. I had them on my old GS, a lot less dust but you can feel the difference. If you dont mind the decrease in performance, then by all means, go for it. Some owners still have the squeak after the pad changes.

I got it done and it's worth it. Hate brake noises.

But those pads ensure high friction + low dust and noise. The TSB ensures low dust but low friction.

Not gonna matter in daily driving IMO.

If you're going to race on the track then sure.

^ actually the endless brake pads are both low dust and high friction. so going aftermarket would be the solution IF TSB pad replacement don't work (which seems to be the case). no point going the TSB route if there's going to be aggravation with sqeak noise down the road.

I lived with the problem on my 2006 GS430. Brake noise was terrible: SQUEEEEEEAAAAAK. It was piercing.

Back in March 09, I took it in for TSB to fix the calipers. Didn't fix the noise issue.

My brakes and rotors were due to be changed. I went with my friend's shop instead of Lexus. Actually, I only had my Lexus dealership do the alignment after I changed them out.

My friend's shop installed Centric Posiquiet brakes and Centric rotors.

I lost the aggressive bite of the OEM brakes, but that's not a negative to me - that bite on the OEM brakes are too aggressive and awkward for daily diving in my opinion.

The brake noise is gone. Totally. No more squeaks at all. None! Doesn't matter the temperature or season.

Barely any brake dust either. OEM brakes left a LOT of brake dust. Made my chrome wheels black within a few days after a wash.

They're much cheaper than OEM as well. I don't believe the dealer's mechanics are any more competent than my friend. They're probably less so.

Are the replacement pads the ones noted in attached TSIB for the GS350?

If so, these are the pads that were installed in my IS350 last summer, no noise, much less dust, better brake feel was end result. But my car never had the noise problem prior to change.

I agree. The noise is so embarrassing. The car is spotless dropped on staggered chrome 20's and you pull up to the light and EEEEEEEEEEEEE! So embarrassing. Its like a supermodel that falls on the cat walk

I cant believe Lexus would let pads like this out. I have some old pieces of junk that never made brake noise. I really don't care what the reason is or how common noise is with brakes from other cars........ its embarrassing for me and it should be embarrassing for Lexus as well.. I am onthe only car making any noise at any light I come to.

I guess I will be doing an aftermarket kit in the future like I did with the G35

im going to have the TSB done because i dont feel that i should have to pay for aftermarket brakes to make them quiet on a $61k car thats still under warranty and also dont feel that i should get brakes with less stopping power and if after they fix it i feel the brakes fade more or dont stop as well they will get it back again.....

I feel your frustration. Seriously. Our cars are very nice and we spent a good amount of money on these car brand new. To much to have chronic brake noise
