Default Navigation DVD update

I have a 06 with navigation and I'm planning to get updated version. Right now, the resolution looks like crap on day mode and can hardly read the road names unless zoomed in. My girlfriend has a 2010 RX and the navigation resolution looks amazing and very clear. So my question is, if I do the update to the latest navigation, will it be clear like the RX or same quality?

nop, you have 06 with gen4 nav and lower resolution screen. it's not something a dvd upgrade can improve

Probably more cost effective to trade-in for an 07.

Isn't it just plug and play if you just replace the whole center console?

I think he's referring to the Gen 6. Which starts in 2010. 2007 still uses the older Gen 5 nav.

But yeah, many people are going to say it's not worth it since the center unit is so expensive.
