Post Prepaid Maintenance service cost 5year/75000 miles 09 GS 350

New to the forum and a new owner of a 09 RWD GS 350, my question to the community is what is a fair price/ upfront cost for prepaid maintenance for a 09 GS 350 for all service maintenance up to 5 years/ 75000 miles, dealer service along with loaner car, car wash etec, covers all documented recommended maintenance service. Lets say I paid 3300 dollars. Did I get ripped off?

FYI, it covers roughly 14 services at 5000 mile intervals. I heard the 40k and 60k services are little pricey at the dealer.

Not only does it sound a bit steep, but I can just see the incentive to doing all of the service items falling out of the bucket with a pre-paid plan as such.

I'd do a pay-as-you-go deal, unless they unconditionally proved every piece of work done at every service, and gave me a list of exactly what services would be done for the price. Still, though, $3,300 sounds steep for 75K miles. Certainly not any deal...and btw, is the pre-paid plan bonded in any way? What happens if the dealer goes out of business or if the dealership changes hands?

It doesnt sound like a bargain to me, especially since you dont have a AWD model. The price sounds like about the same price if you were to pay as you go. I would talk them down another $1000 or so.

3k, wow that doesn't sound much of a deal, maybe pay as go isn't going to be much more, if at all. on audi, first 3 yrs prepaid maintenance is about 800 bucks, so to think lexus cost another 2500 for the next 2 yrs that sounds quite expensive

On Audi, the prepaid program is $700 for five years or 50000 miles. Its basically 4 routine maintenance. Lexus' routine maintenance have always been expensive, but a lot of it is not require like Audi. When I had my Lexus, I was told, the only thing that was require was changing all the fluilds and filters.

The only positive I can think of is that perhaps you rolled that amount into a great APR and it is like another 30-40 bucks a month in your payment....But that is all....

I'd run back to the dealer and told him that I changed my mind and asked for money back for the "maintenance" scam.

ok so i was not smoking. i remember audi told me 700 bucks for the a5 just not sure about the duration (3 or 5 yrs)

on lexus, i also agree for the first 5 yrs it should be nothing more than just normal fluid change

Smile lets break down the numbers...

14 service calls:

1k free
5k free
10k oil change ~ 50 oil change, 40 loaner car, 10 bucks for carwash, around 100bucks included is rotation of tires... *1 plus inspection
15k same as above *1
20k same as above *1, replace batteries in keys ~5 bucks
25k same as above *1
30k same as above *1, plus replace air and engine filter, replace brake fluid (~50 bucks more?), replace batteries in keys
35k same as above *1
40k same as above *1 replace batteries in keys
45k same as above *1
50k same as above *1 replace batteries in keys
55k same as above *1
60k same as above *1 plus replace spark plugs, replace air and engine filter, replace brake fluid, measure brake pads , replace batteries in keys...( don't know the price, estimated guess is 500 dollars?)
65k same as above *1
70k same as above *1 replace batteries in keys
75k same as above *1

all in all 7x $100 bucks=$700, 60k maint. = $500, 30k, 40k, 50k, 70k = 4 x 150 bucks= $600 bucks

all in all 700 + 500 + 600 = 1800 bucks i would say would be fair.

Does anyone out there know how much is a lexus dealer 60k maint. gonna cost? along with the 30k main, 40k maitenance? Plus also I didn't factor the increas or decrease in cost of goods or labor in the next 5 years.

Someone paying the above prices to Lexus dealers must also be wiping their *** every day with $20 bills.
