Default Rear bumper alignment - need your opinions/expertise

narrowing down my purchase of a 2006 GS300/2007 GS350/2007 450h...

saw this 2007 450h from nash auto in costa mesa, ca. spoke with the sales rep who went out to the car on his cell phone and described all the surface scratches on the car (which were very few).

however, he did notify me the carfax record showed that the car had an accident report. listed as "accident reported in pasadena involving left rear impact."

the sales guy said there is no frame damage or shifting (otherwise it would list it in the carfax report). he said it seems that it could have just been a minor accident since the airbags didn't go off (which means it was less than a 20mph impact).

need some help. 1) does this sound legit?; 2) take a look at the pics (side and rear view). notice how the line of the car under the tail light from the body of the car and the trunk of the car doesn't completely line up accurately.. could this be adjusted? or do you think this is a sign of something bigger?

other than that, the car is great.. 2007 450h, 35k miles and listed for $34,990 so i'm sure i could get it for a great price.

thoughts?

For me, I would avoid it all together. I rather pay a little more knowing I bought a car that has no body damage, but that's just me.

i will never pay for a car that has been in an accident. no matter what, it's not the same anymore. and you just can't really trust carfax that much anymore, they are pretty useless at times

it's really hard to see from those pictures about alignment of the bumper, need a lot of angles and closeup to be sure

and in a rear collision, i don't think airbag will deploy anyway?
