How much quoted for front and rear brake pads? 2006 GS300 AWD 48k miles
My brake pads are done at 48K miles and the dealership will be replacing them. I was quoted 656 for the front brake pads total and they recommend me to replace the rear pads. Can anyone give me their estimate on their brake pads and the total price they paid for front and rear pads on the GS? Thanks.

I've read somewhere that people have taken their cars to Toyota dealerships to get brake work done. There was a thread about this that opened up earlier this week or last week. They have prices listed there.

I recently purchased a set of OEM Lexus front brake pads for about $55, just for the parts. The quote you got seems ridiculous for just replacing the front pads. A dealer should be able to do that in less than an hour. Btw, the parts cost for rear pads is about the same.

I haven't done my GS yet, but just had the RX done a couple months ago. It was ~$220 at an independent place...dealer wanted about $280 for the front brakes. $600+ seems steep.

$656 for just the fronts...are they replacing the rotors too? That's seems very high. You can do better.
I just did my front and rear pads at 52K (I could have gotten another 5k but didn't want to risk rotor scrape as they were not being replaced.) The pads were Akebono ProAct ceramics from TireRack and cost me ~$100 for all the pads. Took me a leisurely 1 1/2 hours to do front and back pad replacement. My 2006 GS was the easiest brake job I have ever done.
