what's the size of stock wheel, 8 +45 (someone correct me)? if so, that's the same as 10 +69. with 20mm spacer, that's 10+49. i am very very surprised with that setup you were rubbing, maybe coz' the tires are very bulky.
with 9+30 with 265, i think it's ok but that's probably with a bit of fender work (maybe take out the trim).
