Default Updated my seats a little today. Here's the DIY with pics.

Took me about 45 minutes to do it. Pretty easy. On a scale of 1 to 10 in difficulty, this was a 2 at most.

It is in response to this thread here:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...eir-seats.html

First here are the original seats.

And here are the covers. 18 bucks a piece at the local dealer. A little more expensive than online but no shipping and instant gratification were worth the extra 13 bucks.

No with the seat pulled all the way forward and all the way up reach under for 3 elastic straps that hold the carpet under the seat. Push forward to undo the straps.

This is what it will look like with the straps undone. Now under the carpet there are two screws that need to be undone to remove the seat back. They are located where the arrows are. This is going to be the most difficult part of the install. You just have to get up there and somehow unscrew the screws. It took a lot of contortions on my part but I got it done.

These are the screws.

Now the bottom will kind of be hanging out. So grab both sides of the seat back and wiggle it while pulling fairly hard towards you. It should pop right off.

Now there are two screws that need to be removed. KEEP THESE as the new covers do not come with screws.

Oldness.

New shiny installed.

Compare and contrast!

Now for the other side, you're going to have to move the seat back pretty far to get to the other two screws.

More new shiny. Now button up and do the other side.

DONE!

Yup, but pretty high quaility. I suppose you could have just removed the original and painted it yourself, but the originals have a weird texture that isn't 100% smooth.

Awesome work! I was happily surprised when I saw them on my car. They really do add something.

I also noticed the ventilation fans back there; was their much clearance for a fan upgrade? Did you notice anything special about the fan?

Wow, that is an awesome write-up thanks!! It seems the new painted part matches the trim around the NAV/INFO screen. Lexus has always been great with small details
