lol, i actually think my car is more like exe style or half vip. i don't think my wheel fitment is aggressive enough and my car isn't low enough. but for the kind of driving i do, i think this is the max i'd wanna go. i just want to make sure my car is jdm

yeah i hate cops in monterey park, i was glad i got out of there with no license plate and didn't get pulled...

come on down and we can hang out with mark in his gs too

When you say a lot of work was needed....Do you mean it was not a direct swap ? the kit does not fit well ? Any info you can share would help those who may consider getting an exact or similar kit in future. Thanks

tim,

when dealing between us spec cars vs jdm stuff, and frp (fiber re-inforced plastic, basically fiber glass) vs stock bumpers (plastic), one can almost always expect issues during fitment. not to mention when you are trying to mix fit things

have lip kits are very different from bumper replacement. lip kits actually fit on a lot easier than bumpers, coz' it's always just add-on to the bumper already by using extra screws or clips, etc... fitment are usually much better.

bumper replacement is a totally different story. you are dealing with all the factory brackets, panels, clips. it's much harder to transfer everything over.

first of all us bumper and jdm bumpers are different, specially in the front, due to different crash requirement. that's why putting jdm bumpers over and you likely need to lose or modify some panels. and then with the fiber glass bumpers, sometimes the fiber glass are thicker than stock plastic bumpers so things might not fit flush, gaps might not be even, brackets might not fit. and also since frp is not close to be as flexible as platic bumpers, a lot of the clips might be very hard to fit.

so in the end, usually quite a bit of work is needed to fit things on, and a good shop needs to know what they are doing, and often times fit things on before painting, etc... so adjustments could be made.

this does not just apply on jod design. same thing happens on aimgain and most other bumper replacement kits i have seen

Nice Job.

It's difficult to see the body kit on a black car... I have the same problem. But with good light and angle, your car looks sexy.
