Default Windshield Wipers

I went to the dealer today and I noticed that my windshield wipers don't rest on the windshield like the ones in the Lexus showroom. My drivers side wiper appears to be slightly higher and the passenger wiper is slightly lower. Do the AWD windshield wipers differ from the RWD, or do the 06 AWD/RWD models differ from the 07+?

Over the weekend some hater decided to flip up the windshield wipers on my car. The wiper blades were bent causing a noisy windshield wiper operation on the glass and uneven wiping. I went ahead and bought brand new wiper blade assemblies from the dealer and everything operates fine (quiet and smooth). Previously, I never really noticed how the windshield wipers rested on the windshield.

Great! Maybe it's just the earlier AWD models.

The wipers have 2 resting positions. Have you checked to be sure they are in the lower position, resting more towards the bottom of the windshield. It's been a while since I've changed mine, but from what I remember I just had to somewhat forcefully push each wiper blade down (or pull up). I think it's described in the manual too.

I guess the idea is that for areas of the country with snow you would have the wipers rest in the upper position so they don't get stuck or buried in the snow in the cowl area.

^ this is correct. Just push them down. The higher setting is for changing the wipers I would assume and I live where it snows and if there is too much snow they go into that 2nd or higher position. Its very easy to push them back down.
