Wax before the Winter
For you guys that live in the northeast or any cold climate that gives a snowy and icey winter, do you do one last heavy coat of wax before the winter or is it pointless. Its already Nov in NJ and i know is gonna start snowing next month, I was gonna give the car a heavy coat of wax while I take of the Chrome Wheels for the Winter. Does anyone do this or do u just wait until spring time to begin to wax again? thanks

Lead Lap
I just clayed, polished and waxed mine this weekend in preparation. 2 coats of wax on the front bumper, hood, fenders trunk and rear bumper. Should hold me until late March/April... GX gets done next weekend then I'll be ready.
Is it pointless? No b/c the wax (or sealant) acts as the sacrificial layer - not your clearcoat. Makes spring cleanup easier w/ minimal paint blemishes to correct.
YMMV

winter or not, it is always nice to have layers of wax for the extra protection, plus the rain/snow would slide off much easier
i know people that wax once a month, so doing it before winter won't hurt.

Sealant first than a coat of Carnauba wax and you have the best of both worlds. A Good high gloss sealant will last anywhere from 6 to 12 months. The Carnauba will give you the wet look but will only last for 90 days.
