Default Transfer Contact via Bluetooth

Brand new 08 GS350 owner here (just handed in my 04 FX35). RWD/Red/Nav/ (no ML :-( )

So, I've got my phone all connected via Bluetooth. However, I'm very confused on how to get my contacts to download. I have made it to the screen where the transfer looks like it's either taking place or it's waiting for me to do something on the phone. I believe it says "transfer in progress" as well as "send contact info from phone" (I"m ballparking this so bear with me).

What do I do next? I've waited about 10 minutes, assuming it might be downloading, but nothing changes. Do I need to do something on the phone itself? Do I need to wait a longer time? I have about 150 contacts on my phone. MY phone is a Verizon / Audiovox XV6800. According to my info, it supports "the Wireless Headset, Hands–free, A2DP, Serial Port Bluetooth Profiles. It does not support all Bluetooth Object Transfer (OBEX) Profiles."

Any help is appreciated!

Ah, I found the issue. XV6800 does not support multipler phonebook entries at once. Ah well, time to manually synch :-(

Just could not find the info on this phone until now.

Wait! It also said that phone does not support showing the raoming status and battery level, but I have definitely seen that on my GS350 screen.

Soooooo, back to the original question. I guess at this point, it would be what do you normally have to do to to do a complete phone book transfer?

Thanks again

Check out the lexus compatibility site. You may find what your looking for there.

Install the JETware Hands-free Extension on your phone and you will be able to transfer a whole phonebook just in one pass.

I have tried over and over and after a year, I have still never been able to transfer my contacts to my 2007 GS350. I even tried from my laptop and nothing has worked. Good luck.

bt works pretty much like a peer-to-peer protocol. you also need to operate from your phone to complete the transfer.
so the whole precess will take:
1. from the head unit: info-->setting-->phonebook-->transfer data-->select group (then the screen shows data being transfered....)
2. go to your cell phone book and pick one entry (if your cellphone can not do multi-entry transfer), select "send" under the entry, and voila!

If I have a palm, can I beam it to the car because thats what I tried and it didnt work? Do I need to point it at something?

I think beaming is through IR, not BT.

^ my phone call it beam but in the beam screen it search for BT too. The car need to be in the 'receiving the transfer' for the phone to detect the car. Than I just choose the car to transfer and do the transfer.

My phone is the Cingular 2125 smart phone. My god it is so freakin annoying to do each and every single one through bluetooth. To make it worst, the car can't take multiple phone numbers (like I have a contact with their work/home/cell all under this one contact). The car seem to take whatever phone number it like, I have to delete all the other numbers leaving only the one I want it to take.

Is there a way to input contacts/phone number manually without needing the "transfer" from the phone?

And the 1-touch dial, why the #6 is grayed out for outgoing calls only?

It had "under transfer" on the screen for 10-15 minutes. I have about 30 contacts...

Anyway, I entered some manually. I was able to register and use the phone. Just not able to transfer contacts.
