Default Power-fold Mirrors

I love the new car, just one question. We have the button to make the mirrors fold in, but is there any way to make the car fold in the mirrors automatically when you park like on Mercedes or I think the LS? Any way to make them auto fold?

Thanks!

our side mirrors have the tendency to break all the time, you don't want them to fold automatically.. trust us.

Really? It's pretty common? Maybe I should stop pressing the button so much.

I've read that the tilt down mirrors are troublesome because the motor gear goes because it's plastic.
I will turn mine off.I forgot how,tho.
I find the tilt down to be a pain when backing.

yea.. seems like the side mirrors assembly don't live up to the Lexus name, I think you can turn off the auto reverse tilt down by putting the mirror adjustment switch in the "middle" instead down on either side.

Man, I love the auto tilt for parking in the lines. Thought you guys were just referring to the folding feature, but the tilting motors are known to fail too?

whlkev:
Could you please elaborate on you previous answer? My adjustment switch is either left or right - there is no middle ground. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!

If you push the same side that the light is on the light will go off. That means you are in the middle.

always seemed like a useless feature to me. I dont live in NYC though. I actually folded mine in once while on a top speed run to reduce drag slightly. lol

Page 63 of manual

Linked mirror function when reversing
The outside rear view mirrors will automatically angle downwards when the vehicle is reversing in order to give a better view of the ground. However, this function will not operate when the mirror select switch is in the neutral position (neither “L” nor “R” selected).
