Hmmmmm, some of you must have really heavy feet. Two weeks ago we went from NJ TO SC.......almost 750 miles one way. On the way down,we averaged better than 36 mpg. This was with cruise control set at 70.

On the way back,we averaged 31 mpg. This was with a mix of driving without and with the cruise control set at 70.

"Does anyone know what MPG the Hybrid averages ?"

It is very flexible. Around town we average about 24 MPG driving it moderately fast. If I try really hard I can manage about 26 in city driving. But, I've seen it as low as 20 in the city. In the highway "wars" I tried my hardest and achieved 38.6 for over 100 miles at about 60-65 mph. But going between 80-99 i see around 33 or so.

That's outstanding gas mileage. I would expect no less with a GS350 since I get 27mph on the highway in my GS460 -- a V8. the 8-speed tranny should get a lot of the credit.

I do agree that the lexus gets amazing mpg, but at the same time some of you guys must be driving like old women, driving at a decline. 34mpg???? maybe downhill with the AC off. not saying it didnt happen, but you have to drive under specific circumstances to nail that kind of efficiency.

I have a 2006 GS300 and I get 31-33 mpg if I'm doing pure (meaning 100%) highway. I get about 23-24 city.

I generally drive 75-80 most of the time bec I drive these totally empty desert highways and roads. 1-2 lanes in each direction. I usually get 24-25, but live in AZ so the damn AC is perpetualy on.lol

Lol,I hear you,but I was not driving like grandma. A steady 70 mph,no A/C,and tires inflated to maximum. Also,91 octane gas was used. I normally used regular gas, but, people have told me that higher octane gas burns slower,so,I wanted to give it a try. It seems to work for me,at least on this trip. On a similar trip using regular,I could only manage 33 -34 mpg. Who knows, maybe I was driving with a tail wind.

Nothing wrong with your car. Everyone will achieve different results in fuel mileage. Driving style is key. The more weight you have on your car, the less your fuel mileage will be.
