Anyone using the aux audio with your iPhone in a 2008 GS?
If so, what product are you using? What functionality do you get?...meaning does the bluetooth phone function while playing music? Can you control the iPhone's music through the nav screen...steering wheel? Do you have just a simple cable from phone to aux port.... or do you have a charger with it?
Also, Anyone know if this product from griffin below will work with the iPhone?

I have a 2008 GS460 and want to be sure of what I'm getting before investing... Thanks in advance for all the help!!

No experience with a GS, but my wife's IS has the same Aux port and we have iPhones.
Simple Cable that plugs from the Aux port to the headphone jack on the iPhone
No Steering control or NAV screen control. You have to control using the iPhone. If you want this, you'll need to get a VAIS device which will give you that control and also fully integrate, except for synching, your iPhone to the car.
Just going through initial experiences with Bluetooth and playing music. There may be some issues with having to disconnect the cable when a call comes in, but not sure if was operator confusion or not.
Charge works as it's connected to the Apple connector jack and that plugs into the lighter for power/charging.
One big item is that you can NOT synch your contacts from your iPhone to the NAV. Not a GS issue, but an iPhone. No synching, except for iTunes, available. If you want that you'll need to synch using a different phone to get the phone numbers into the NAV, once done you can then use and dial with them as your iPhone as the phone.
No experience with that device.
Hope this helps.

It does stop the music when you have a call
coming in without an adapter. I can tell you that the system sounds 100% better through the aux jack playing my iphone. I was disappointed with the sound until I heard my iphone on it...

Is the vaistech ipod adapter the SLI model for $249.99? Is there not just a "simple" cable I can get from aux port to iPhone that will do this? I'm not interested in taking the dash out or anything like that.... just a quick "plug n play". Thanks again for all of the feedback!!!!

The Vaistech, SL2i, is actually $224.99. That is the recommended approach if you want onscreen and steering control of your iPhone. If you want to just be able to use the Aux jack, then yes, you can get a cable at the Apple store, I think we got the Monster cable which my wife uses in her IS. So, the simple cable gives you the ability to play and hear your music, but no control, except from the phone.
