It's even easier since you do not really have to disconnect or remove the battery. I used the same grommet, but fed the fish wire from inside the passenger compartment. Also, no need to remove the trim panel at the back door at the seat . The wires can be pushed behind the seat. The amp turn on wire is identified for the ML amp.

Lead Lap
i believe the amp for non ML systems is located in the spare tire area in the trunk. I was messing around cleaning stuff up and noticed a small amp on the passenger side under the trunk mats next to the spare tire.

This is a great guide, thanks a lot guys.
I have a 12" sub and amp sitting in my basement with no home since I bought my 06 gs300. I went to a local audio shop and they want $800 to build a custom box to mount right where the factory sub is, I was afraid it would block the trunk. This is a PERFECT solution. The wire routing and running of the leads are all things I've done in the past so I'm excited about this.
One question though about the turn on lead, just putting it in the cigarette lights fuse will power up the sub when the car starts? It's that simple?
Once I get my wife to give me my ***** back I'll place an order.
