Default Gs350/gs430 Question, Engine Noise, Smoothness

How much difference is there between the V6 and V8 when it comes to engine noise coming into the inside of the vehicle - and smoothness?

I'm figuring the V6 may not be as smooth as the V8 and probably has a higher pitch. Any truth to this?

Are you comparing engine noise or the technology of these two engines? The 350 engine is new technology from lexus. Direct Port Injection is the next big thing. Which one would I pick? The 350 of course.

I'm all for the comfort, serenity and quiet that Lexus interiors offer. I'm wondering if there's any more interruption of this with the V6 than with the V8. Honestly, at the current time (without the 4.6 liter v8), the GS350, for less money, seems like the much better deal...

isn't the new 350 more powerful than the old 430?
The 350 is much better tech wise compared to the 430.
No real comparison.

by a few hp, but the V8 still has more low end.

As far as sounds, the 350 engine has a ticking sound with the direct port injection and some people don't like it (sounds like a diesel engine) but the V8 has a nice deep growl so... it's more personal choice; however, keep in mind that you can't really hear this while driving normally inside the car. The only time you'll hear it is at full throttle or when you are outside/have windows down.

So that's what makes that ticking noise? I don't know of one person that doesn't mind hearing that sound. It's Hella loud. If you have your radio off and parked with the car idling and window down, you'll hear it.
BUT if youre windows are up, you won't hear it.very quit that way. I would let it deter you in getting the car.
