from the looks of it. it is repairable... i've had worst bumps and scratches than that. at my area, it'll cost you around USD100 to get it looking like new.

I'd try reparing first. Even if you spend 100, to at least try it's better than what a OEM will cost you painted and shipped.
WOW, that rock was huge? did it go into your windshield after? Where do rocks that big fall from? the bed of a truck?
or did somone throw a rock at your car?....
I'd like to know how it happened, but either way, I am sorry. That hurts.

was doing 100+mph on freeway,, a new wrx was passing me and cut me fm the right all the way to carpool lane, once his car was crossing the yellow lanes, there were dusts and rocks on the divider so i was hit by the rock believe the speed was at 120mph, the sound was pretty loud while hitting on the hood, after that he got smoke twice while i was at speed 140mph...(shoot... can't find the any bottle in my car) but the cost of this kill is kinda high, nothing happened on the windowshiled. it's really sux!

I don't think you can get that fixed for a hundred. My guess is five hundred to do body filler, prime, then base and clear coat. Bad decision to race on public streets. Just not worth the risk to you, your car and anyone else's life. Keep the road rage and save it for the video games. Glad it was just your hood that paid the price this time.

I'd agree with JamRWS6...would be more to fix that unless you've got the deal of all deals with a good body shop. Here in Dallas that would be easily $500-$600. The hood is aluminum too if I'm not mistaken, and it takes a special shop to work on aluminum and do it right.

Tell me if you have never EVER driven faster than 100mph in your lifetime on free way. If you have, then ease off the harsh comment. Then again if you haven't, go buy a volvo

Way to go to make a fellow CL member to feel better about this unfortunate incident. Racing on freeway late at night without any traffic seems safe to me, please try to actually know what's going on before you offend people like this.

Sorry that you think those words are harsh. Play with fire and you will eventually get burned. Hood is repairable. Your life and perhaps someone else's life is not. As with most everything in life there is a lesson there. Emotions and revenge do not belong behind the wheel. Be smart and be safe. Never assume anything. Glad you are ok!

sorry for your pain man i got a rock chip on my bumper coming home from the dealer, 2.5 hours home from dealer and already a freakin chip. i though my life was over then. i would try a paint less dent removal place to see if they can pop the dent up then maybe get some touch up for the rest, or just shell out for a new hood. good luck man
