you live in CA... hardly cold enough there for you to hear creeks.
Creeks won't happen above 45degrees. and you need a consitant temp below that 45 degrees for like 8 hours. (over night for instance)
At least not the windshield tick we are referring to...

Sorry, I'm going to have to prove you wrong on that point. I just got back from Newport Beach and it was a nice 70 degrees there today. The car rattled like crazy and now I'm a bit worried that this rattle will not go away even after it warms up.

Could it be something else? I have the tick/click near the passenger side dashboard and it only happens when the temp is below 40. We have had some warm weather here couple weeks ago and the car was super quiet..... I am guessing here....

if you're right your right....
Mine is 99.6% fixed in 30 degree cold weather, so I am hoping come summer and its 100, there will be no rattles.
And oh, today I took my car out of the garage for the first time in 3 weeks.
Very nice car, I almost forgot.

My dash first started making noises in 80+ degree weather, and it hasn't gotten any better or worse with low temps around 40. I don't think it's temperature related so much as the car breaking in and pieces shifting around.

Well, my creak is gone for now. I think mine is of the variety that manifests itself only in very cold weather, and only after a prolonged exposure to the cold.

My car is making the crazy ticking sound from the base of the right side A-pillar that everybody seems to be complaining about. It was totally silent for the first 2 months/5000 miles and once the weather started to get cold it appeared. For the most part, I agree that the sound seems to be temperature dependent but my rattle is there sometimes even though the temp is well into the 50s and 60s. This week it was there even with 70 degree weather.
It sucks that we have to deal with a silly issue like this. I have to say that this nuissance problem is seriously affecting my enjoyment of an otherwise fine automobile. So much so that I went from driving it all the time to having it sit in the garage for the past 3 weeks. Keep your eyes peeled, you just might see a 4 month old GS350 for sale on a dealer lot near you!

My Test!!
I have done my own test. Three days and so far so good. The only things I hear are noises added from when they removed the dash board. Great
Such an easy fix, and what is wrong with Lexus...

I was 4 times with my 450h, the 4th time, I watched them.....
99.6% fixed now. If you didn't knwo what to look/listen for you wouldn't know it was the "tick"
Acura's/Honda's are great cars. Fairly reliable. But it's still a Honda. I would rather have a toyota than a honda.
They have come far, but still.... I compare them to a nissan/infiniti, not a lexus.
Agree, they have the BEST nav and voice recog. syst. out there.
For instance my BMW 550i is a 80+K, is the biggest POS when it comes to the Nav and voice recog system, but it's still a far superior car to a Acura/ Lexus in it's own areas, for instance solid feel, and better ride. OH and did I mention the 20 way articulated comfort seats?
Just because the car is a POS in one area doesn't mean it doesn't have it's pros. Acuras are good, there ok, not superior besides the NAv and Voice recog systm.
THe GS has a POS recog system in my mind, but a far better car than the Acura besides the fact I jhust mentioned.
Ya it has a few rattles, but it's not the end of the world.
Lexus came to my work once, my house twice, picked up my car on a flat bed, and left me with a loaner. They have far superior service than Acura, BMW....
Just my .04 on a few facts.

I have voice recognition interfaces in both my GX470 and 645ci and I used to be equally frustrated with both until I thought about the fact that these fine machines are still machines and that I have also become accustomed to experiencing communication failures, frustration and misunderstandings with "real" people at home and work.
