Nice photos. I noticed you said nothing about jack stands. I notice there was none then in the last photo, I see one on passenger side. After my father told me about someone he new getting killed and another lamed for life after hydraulic failures, I would not craw under a car with only a jack. Keep yourself safe .. Nice photos of the metal shavings. In your experience, do you see those after the first oil change?

when rebuilding a motor its a good idea to change the oil every 500-1000 miles for the first 3000 miles as some metal shavings do come about, not uncommon..so a new car should be the same--i've changed my oil twice already and have only 23XX miles

Isn't a Lexus a Toyota?

>An Acura is a Honda, an Infiniti is a Nissan, but a Lexus is LEXUS !!!!!

I have a 07 IS250 with about 600 miles. I was thinking about changing my oil at 1,500.

But some say they put a special break in oil at the factory and not to change the oil to soon.

I dont know, I'm like you I would rather change the oil sooner then prolong it.

Initially, the reason they don't put synthetic in the car, is that the non-synthetic is thicker. It breaks in the engine better. Personally, I wouldn't change it the first time until it's stated at 5,000. Verry nice pics and post though. Nice job.
