Thumbs up Active sway bars on 07' 450h, you guys tried it?

I had a chance to drive a 450h hard on an autoX course at the taste of Lexus event. I was VERY happy with the new active sway bars feature. The amount of body roll in hard corner is so little, feels like a hardcore real sports car, in a 4200 lbs car!!

Performance with full comfort. The best way to go

Well I wish the #()$()#)( motoring press would ask Lexus for it, or I wish Lexus would INSIST on sending a GS 450 or 430 WITH the ****....

Sigh......

gears 1-6 can still be used in the gs450h. I use mine all the time.
For instance, if you want even more torqe than the already 4 motors in the dang car, sift from auto to manual, that puts it to gear 5, which adds a little engine bracking, but give you more immediate torqe.
You can also down shift for more engine braking at stops.
the 2nd start is a nice feature in the snow, tried it yesterday, but and the traction control, although it's not awd, did ok in snow.
my thoughts.

The GS 450h has CVT, there are no gears, it is always in the right gear.
The GS 350 and GS 430 have a 6 speed tranny.

interesting that you say taht you can still shift gears when it is a 2 step cvt. at taste of lexus, i didn't have enough to test the shift patterns of the manual. i started out in manual thinking i was going to shift, but remembered that it's a cvt so i shifted back to D and just used the gas. does it actually feel like it shifts on every upshift?

I know the GS450h, is a CVT, I have it, but when I switch to manual, it goes to 5th, the feels like it just downshifted a little for faster response.
If you are driving and downshift when coming to a stop, there is a lower noise, as if you were downshifting a normal car. This is downshifting what then?
Is it down shifting the electric motor? Does the electric motor have gears? or does that just power the gas?
Stupid question, b/c I know for a fact that the biggest electric motor in the car produces 199 hp alone. Their is one electric motor for electrics in the car, and there is one more.
What am I hearing and feeling in the car when I go from 3>2>1, when manually shifting down?
I have to be downshifting something.....

Default **** or no ****?

I'm getting a 2007 450h this week. How do I know if it has ****? I haven't asked the dealer yet (yes, I know I can ask them but they aren't open now and I'm curious). I'm supposedly getting "every option," but I don't recall them mentioning ****.

?

I already know it has no spare and comes with runflats instead. (I'm used to that drill from my MINI days.)

On one of my many unwanted trips to the service department this came up. I was talking to the tech and service manager about how I use the manual shift in my 430 and they proceeded to tell me about their test drive of the 450h that had been out for a week or two. They got to go to the race track and give it a go. He told me it had manual shift. I said the same thing; I thought it only has one gear? The service tech said it was simulated. I laughed and said what that is for the old guy to feel young They just laughed and said it simulates shifting what ever that means. I wonder if it has a mode to simulate the roar of a V8 Probably uses the electric motor for feedback

The **** is about a $2800 option and will be broken out on the window sticker as a separate line item on the option side. If its not there then its not on the car.
