22's on the GS
I kno u guys are usually against 22's and more for 20's wit serious dish, but ive had two IS300s wit staggered 19's and almost went 20s on them... Seeing how the GS is quite a bit bigger, i want some 22's... Ive seen a couple of GS's with them on, and they do look really big... But i was just wondering if i would be able to stagger the 22's?
Wut is the widest tire sizes u guys are running on the rear with 20's?
I appreciate any help... thanx

i dont know an answer for you but I know you can stagger them. The offset isnt all that much so the rims are not going to look like 22's on a 7 series bmw. I personally have 22's on mine and love it. There are some pics on here, but it seems that most people just arent into the
22's. At least on this forum but around town people love the thing.

We have some members here who put 22s on the GS. IMO, it wasn't as bad to look at as I thought. IMO, some 20s with a nice lip= the win! Also the GS suspension can handle a +2 (18" to 20") upgrade with no issue, 22s = +4 which will hurt the suspension in the long run.
On the show scene, clearly bigger is better to people and judges.

I'm gonna go ahead and assume you're not lowered. So yes, you can get away with 22's, as far as staggered? Closest option you have is a 285/25/22, and youll be a full 2" larger in O.D.(going from ~25.5 to a ~27.5), about 8%. And you would not be able to put any suspension on it per se, without seriously hacking the metal.
It'll be interesting to say the least how it will appear, front would have to be a 245/30/22 to closely match it.
The reason a bunch of people go with 20's, is because it looks killer when lowered 1.5"+. You won't find many members here enthralled by 22's, that size isnt very synonymous with taste to most of us.

I have seen 22's on a GS and although it wasnt absouletly terrible, in my humble opinion it was not absolutely great either. My personal rule of thumb is if you can lower your car 2" or more with your wheels and NO fender mods then your wheels are probably too big. Thats just me though, some guys here have 22's and love them and I can respect their choice.
I state this because you seem to kind of be "asking" for input not just flat out stating what you want to do. I would recommend 21" wheels if you want to push it past 20". ZONE is going to be the first on deck and their 21" wheels will be availible soon. As authorized distributers we can certainly get you a set.

thanks guys for all your help... i was thinkin about puttin a lip kit on and lowerin it right to where all wheel gap is eliminated... I dont want the car to look like a roller skate... on the IS's i was tuckin 19's runnin 245/35/19s in the rear and 235 up front with a L-sportline body kit, i loved it... i kno its goin to be a tight fit but I'm goin to research it as much as i can before i do anything...

And honestly many car companies acknowledge bigger is NOT better when it comes to handling. AMG keeps 18" wheels on the E55 an now E63 as an example.
