Default 07 G35X is very tempting

Closer to the size of a GS than an IS
As fast and better handling than an IS
Cheaper than an IS
Styling not as nice but nicer than previous generation (subjective)
Nice interior gadgets, especially Compact Flash player and hard drive.

If that's true...

Then....

Cadillac = Chevy

Aston Martin = Ford

Audi & Bentley = VW

Ohhh, I soo agree regarding the new '07 G35. I love the new interior and the new nav system. It would definitely be a contender against the IS if I were in the market.

As of this year, there is no Acura and Infiniti in Japan (and other parts of the world). Parent company aside, the Lexus and Toyota brands are now independent with Lexus being sold everywhere (including Japan).

I have not seen the new G35 in person yet but I would not discount it mainly because it is not a Lexus. Lexus builds wonderful cars but they are not perfect.

They start selling 07 G35 in Korea begining of the month...
It does look very impresive and stands out!!
But, that rear spoiler should be a choice! Not a default!
That's the only negativeness I could find on that car...

Uhmm not really. Toyota introduced Lexus and still plays a slight role in their operations.
Honda introduced Acura and still plays a role in their operations. Caddilac, well Cadillac is owned by GM not Chevy. GM actually bought Cadillac when they were barely 10 years old in 1908. Most of GM companies share platforms. Aston Martin was bought out by Ford in the 90's so In essence Toyota had a key role in the develpment of Lexuswhere Ford simply is supplying Aston Martin with funds and what not.
I would cringe at thinking that an Aston Martin is a Ford.
I know i know, they may have some ford parts here and there like a window relay or something.
Sorry for being a knit-picker.

yes true, we know nothing in this world is perfect...but i have the oppurtunity at will to drive the m35 (loaded) and my gs300 and i for one chose the lexus over it, not because its what i have owned before but because it feels more luxurious to me. with the g35 they have improved yes interior wise...and thats a big plus for them, finally got rid of the ugly orange cluster lighting and what not

i sit inside a lexus and i see the difference where it branches out from toyota. where as in a infiniti, up until the new g35, the interior is pretty much identical to whats found in common day maxima's...an example of this would be the leather used in the vehicles for one and the same cluster resemblence they share with its lower subdivision....

for me if they make a luxury division, i dont expect to be paying a higher price for something thats pretty close to its regular vehicle division

Aren't we talking about the new G35 in this thread and not Infiniti in general? Even you seem to agree that the 07s are better.

yes of course...i do agree that the '07 G35 are much better in terms of standing out as a luxurious brand, but thats just the G35, i still hold ground when i coms to Infiniti in general

the further they distinguish the car from the nissan division is the better i feel they will be...they are on the rie track with the g35 IMO

If i was in the market for a new car it would be a hard choice... The 07 TL type S, 07 G35, and 07 IS would almost fall in to the same category and be on my list of cars to check out.. To me it would be a hard choice because all 3 cars offer a little something different and there all reasonably priced IMO..

GL...

Yes the G35 is NICE!! I drove my friend's 6-speed one and shifting is smooth and the brakes are great. They are factory Brembo's.

I really don't like the looks of the newer GS's. Btw, I'd like the G35 the fact that it's available in a 6 speed.
