Can you post a link to the bulb that provides MORE light so that I can see further down the road in front of me at night. I do not want something which will blind the oncoming traffic or is clearly illegal or may cause damage to my car (heat issues)

Im not necessarily after a different look, but purely for safety.

Absolutely!! I would suggest going with a 4300k Philips D4S HID bulb for the brightest possible output. This is the same bulb that your car came with from the factory however these bulbs do lose brightness over time.

8000K will be more blue. Any higher the more purple it'll get.

8000K will be more blue but also you would lose some light output as well the higher you go in color temperature. The brightest temperature is 4300k and each time you go higher you are losing 5 to 10% of the brightness.

Nice thread revival!

I HAD 6000k HIDs, I didn't get any sort of flashes from oncoming traffic. I do however hate it when people keep their high beams on (and in FL, for some reason.... about 75% of drives run with their high beams on like it's normal), and I usually flip on my HID high beams (which is substantially brighter).

We can't tell you what's going on unless you give us the details. Who did you purchase your kit from? Did you reverse the plug around (reversing polarity) to see if it flips on? If that doesn't work, did you check your fuses to make sure you did not blow anything?

Are both lights not working? This could be a case of reverse polarity with the connectors that you connect into your factory harness.

yes both HID lights are not working, but when i plug my LED 9006 bulbs back on they are working fine. I bought my HID kit form this web:

Hi,

You should contact the vendor that you purchased the kit from for assistance, but it sounds like a polarity issue to me.

Yeah, I would take your plug, and reverse it and see if it works then.... The same thing happened to me when I FIRST purchased a cheap HID kit from a local store.... worst mistake ever because they never honored their "LIFETIME" warranty on their ballasts.

Just reversing your plug is not ideal as it may not lock into place. You need to physically take the pins out of the plastic housing, and reverse them when putting them back in.

Question Replacement HID Woes

I have gotten part way in replacing the HID bulb on my LEXUS ES350. I have removed the plastic cover by twisting it off. Then there is the metal cover, but there are three tabs on the outside of the metal case that covers the bulb. What do I do to remove the metal cover concerning the three tabs on the outside of the metal case?

Thanks
