Higher color temperature bulbs provide you with more color but less light. a 6000k D4S HID bulb is rated at approximately 20% less light than 4300k bulbs. We carry both higher kelvin D4S bulbs and OEM 4300k Philips D4S bulbs when you are ready (both at much less than what the dealer is charging).

Im not necessarily after a different look, but purely for safety.

Absolutely!! I would suggest going with a 4300k Philips D4S HID bulb for the brightest possible output. This is the same bulb that your car came with from the factory however these bulbs do lose brightness over time.

I HAD 6000k HIDs, I didn't get any sort of flashes from oncoming traffic. I do however hate it when people keep their high beams on (and in FL, for some reason.... about 75% of drives run with their high beams on like it's normal), and I usually flip on my HID high beams (which is substantially brighter).
We can't tell you what's going on unless you give us the details. Who did you purchase your kit from? Did you reverse the plug around (reversing polarity) to see if it flips on? If that doesn't work, did you check your fuses to make sure you did not blow anything?

yes both HID lights are not working, but when i plug my LED 9006 bulbs back on they are working fine. I bought my HID kit form this web:

Yeah, I would take your plug, and reverse it and see if it works then.... The same thing happened to me when I FIRST purchased a cheap HID kit from a local store.... worst mistake ever because they never honored their "LIFETIME" warranty on their ballasts.

Replacement HID Woes
I have gotten part way in replacing the HID bulb on my LEXUS ES350. I have removed the plastic cover by twisting it off. Then there is the metal cover, but there are three tabs on the outside of the metal case that covers the bulb. What do I do to remove the metal cover concerning the three tabs on the outside of the metal case?
Thanks
