I'm 42 - an elder statesman, it appears. 
Maybe a better poll would be on how we paid for the 3GS:
1) Paid cash
2) Financed
3) Leased
The answers might put a different spin on the age results. I paid cash (along with my trade-in), but mostly because I hate financing anything. I'd rather be temporarily broke than stuck with big monthly bills.

But I realize that most people can't do that, so house financing is usually a necessity. A car, though, is a tool - and financing one is sort of like financing a shovel.
