What's it gonna take (cost) to get GS430 18" rims on AWD GS350?

Default What's it gonna take (cost) to get GS430 18" rims on AWD GS350?

I love the look of the standard rims on the GS430 (see pic), and would like to get them on the GS350 I'm getting ready to purchase. One dealer I spoke to said they'd swap the rims for $4k, give me a small token credit (at the time they didn't say what that amount would be) for the 350 rims and I'd be stuck with the 17" tires. Does this sound right, or have others had success getting these rims on their 350 at little or no extra cost?

Because I live in the midwest and we don't seem to be getting any AWD 350's equiped with Nav and ML (this is the kicker), its looking more and more like I'll have to order one. So I'm also curious what the dealers are going to say when I ask them about getting these rims standard on the order.

Thanks

That sucks!
My dealers asked me $1600 for the wheel exchange... but, I'm in CA...

$4k is just ludicrous. Might as well get them from Sewell Lexus for $1375.

Keep your eyes out on ebay or in the classifieds section here. If you are patient you can get a set of rims and tires for $1000-1200. Then sell your old ones for $500.

Why would you want to trade your wheels for the 18" wheel/tire combo on a AWD car that will experience midwestern winters. Keep the all-seasons that come with the car and get a nice set of aftermarket 18" wheels/tires for summer use. I'm sure it will be a lot less money to just get a set from Tire Rack.

I don't know much about tires, but I was thinking I'd get the 18" rims and find a good all season tire to put on them, then I wouldn't have to deal with swapping them out each fall/spring. If 18" tires just don't do well in all season (i.e., winter) weather, then your point is well taken and I'll just live with the 17" stock rims.

Thanks

Talking My 17" 350 wheels and tires will be replaced by 430s

Sooo, When my car comes in around the end of October I will have a set of 17" stock 350 wheels/tires OEM to bounce off ebay or you guys if you like.
BTW, I am considering the Falken 245/40ZR18 on the 5 spoke 430 wheels.
Any input on a better tire for the buck? I want something at least quiet.

Talking $1000 Extra

Hi everyone, I am a new comer to Club Lexus.

When I ordered my 2007 GS350awd, Sewell Lexus in Dallas offered me to upgrade the std 17" wheel to V8's 18" wheel for additional $1000.

But I decided to wear out the factory set then upgrade to 19" or even 20."

Hope this helps,

SL

2K max for wheels + tires + a new set of TP sensors (not required
if you use the ones on your old wheels)

4K is a complete ripoff.

Yea, the dealer I'm purchasing my GS350 from offered to upgrade as well for $1k, but I've now found another dealer that will sell me the GS430 rims new for $500. I'll put new tires on them for another $650 and have myself a new set of rims/tires for $1150, and I get to keep or resale the new 17" set from my car. Therefore the $1k upgrade was not worth it.

Can you give more details on the dealer willing to sell the 5-spoke tires for $500? I'm in the exact same situation and located in Chicago...already ordered the GS350 AWD...how did you find the dealer? Is it near Chicago? Thanks,

mf1776 - I got lucky on this deal catching a dealer at just the right moment. They'd been sitting on the rims for a bit and I happened to call at just the right moment. To make sure I was getting a good deal, I called other dealers and was quoted anywhere from $1k to $2k for the same set of rims. You can order them from Sewell Lexus of Dallas, but who knows... you may have some luck if you call all the dealers in say Chicago (not sure where you are located) and see if they have a set you could take off their hands. Good luck.
