Anyone know what is going on with the XM radio for the new 2007 GS350. I bought one the new '07 GS350's the day my Lexus dealer got them in (8/25). They sold me the XM sat radio (extra $695) and it was to be installed 2 days later (even though the radio is XM ready - I guess the actual XM unit has to be placed in the dash somewhere - at least the antenna is now in the shark fin - so they tell me). Anyway, appears that the sales dept and the parts dept were out of sync. The unit does not exist. Parts tells me that they do not even have a part number yet. They said that the '07 model requires a completely different unit than other cars. They are hoping it becomes available in the next couple of months. I am a bit disappointed that they did not have this figured out before being so anxious to sell me the unit - not sure how they figured out a price either - probably just used a price for some other car - or they figured they were overcharging me enough that it would cover the dealer's actual cost)

Anyone else have an update. I am getting anxious to have it installed.

BTW - I love this car!

I had XM installed last week on my GS350. Works great and glad it receives through the shark fin and not the ugly 1 inch antenna they used to put on the trunk.

Does it display the entire song and artist name?

It has a 15 character max per line, so some songs aren't listed in its entirety. It does list song and artist, as well as station number and station ID.

I got XM preinstalled on my 2007 GS 350 AWD. $486 on the window sticker. Sounds great even on my non-ML radio.

coloradkid - Was yours installed on an ML system? Not sure if that makes a difference. Lexus is definately getting a call tomorrow.

Also, tripleGS, I was not aware that you could get it preinstalled - was that a dealer add or was it on the actual factory sticker? I assume it is fully integrated even without your ML system - hard to believe that the ML system would make a difference but maybe it does.

XM on the factory sticker. Not sure if it was done at the factory or at the port?

Mine is not the ML system, sounds great. Personally I couldn't distinguish 3,000 dollars worth of sound between the ML and Pioneer units.

Im picking up my GS350 AWD this saturday and as far as i know it's a dealer option. I believe XM is 489 plus install and tax was 649.00. I hope its worth the extra cost. My audiovox xpress display, displays title/artist and much more all at the same time, but i didnt want to have a seperate unit on the dash board. i just didnt think it would look right on this car.

My dealer's parts department just told me the same thing - and the sales department was anxious to sell XM to me, as well (I passed at sale time, but my interest has grown since). Oh, well, I'm not in a hurry, but I guess if it isn't pre-installed at the distribution center or the factory, you've got to wait.
