CrazyMPG, it is the same engine, just slight difference in intake and exhaust. There is 177 lbs weight difference. I would not buy Lexus' 18" wheel/tire option, use the $ to buy forged alloy 18x8 rims cut weight and increase power delivered to the wheels.

If they killed 430 production, then there wouldn't be 07 GS430's on the lot as of right now. In this case, dealers are still getting GS430's but obviously not as much as GS350s.

Default Shark Fin

I just got my GS450h last week, and it is a 2007 model. But it still doesn't have the shark fin. What gives?

Because the GS450h came out as an early 2007 model, your production date was probably before the 2007 model year cars were starting to be built i.e. GS350 and 430.

Yeah there is a certain cutoff. I don't know the date exactly. But from anytime now and you special order from the factory, you will get the updated 07 colors/features.

Should essentially be the same as the "First Day of Production" for other '07 GS models - 07/24/2006.

Have they added the "I need an inch more of headroom" option? The seat just needs to drop an extra inch to the floor and I'm set.

Will current GS300 owners be able to upgrade to the new shark fin antenna? Also, will Lexus be making a retro-fit kit to upgrade Gen4 nav systems to Gen5? Thanks!

Yes it's a part you can order.

No. In order to upgrade to Gen 5 Nav, you need the NAV brain, new touch screen monitor and the Gen 5 DVD disc. The NAV screen and brain is roughly $5k MSRP. Add for the Gen 5 Nav DVD....and you get the picture.

Too bad the Gen 5 Nav does not have the 3D birdseye view that Nissan/Infiniti has patented. It's unbelieveable. Once you have it's hard to make the changeover.

flipside909, how much does the shark fin antenna run? $5K for Gen 5 is not worth it to me. I'm perfectly happy with my current nav system, but I always crave the latest technology.

So what is the big difference between the Gen 4 and Gen 5 navi's besides better graphics? Also, are the Gen 5 graphics really that much better?

Just wanted some feedback.

The Gen 5 graphics are very, very nice looking. I haven't seen the Gen 4 graphics except in pictures, but they look a lot more pixilated and rough-edged.

wow, 2006 v6 owners must be pissed to get 53 hp less on their car! With this said, it almost looks more logical to purchase the new v6 model since it has more peak hp than the v8 mordl, but has less tq, which wouldnt bother me at all, especially the v6 costing less. It must suck to have a 1 year span one v6 motor and then switch to the next, think of all the 06 owners in the future looking for parts.
