Oil Leaks In 06 Gs 300 Awd...ADDED SOME PICS
Recently purchased a new 06 GS was just wondering if any other owners have had oil leaks problems. My car has been at the dealer for the last 15 days with the entire engine and transmission removed. They say there was a faulty seal placed. Please let me know
thanks

I've had my GS300 for 11 months now, and not one drop of oil has hit the garage floor. However, there is a dust shield below the engine that would catch the runoff from a minor leak. To be certain, you would have to put the car up on a lift and remove the shield.

Tell them you want a new one. Why should you have to wait 15 days and why would something so major go wrong with the car that new. In fact I have an 02 Gs300 that at 44,000 miles my rear seal started to leak and the dealer ship thought I was crazy because in there whole time they had only seen like 2 seals like that leak in the gs. In fact they kept the seal and mailed it somewhere to corp so that they could take a look at it. So your problem sounds even stranger then mine. I would tell them that you are getting a lawyer and that you want a new car because you don't want a car that was taken apart. Because good knows how they will put it back toghter. They might cause more problems then you have. Be firm the car cost a lot of money!

Sorry to cut in on your thread...I know my car is 11 years old and isn't a gs but I want to vent. I needed the vlave cover seals replaced at around 50K miles and now, 2 weeks ago the rear main seal had to be replaced at 61K miles. I expected more from a lexus engine. Now you're having a leak on a new car?

Still Waiting
well the car is still at the dealer.. they had the regional technician come take a look at it take some digital photos and send them to corporate. I have talked to lexus head office to make them aware of the situation. so far they keep stating that they will fix the car. The lemon law states that you have to let them attempt to fix the problem, if its there more than 30 business days or you have taken it back three times for repair. I am cocnerned my self as to how they are going to put it back together. the oil leak was from the right hand side leaking on to the heat shield giving off a horrible smell as well as smoke. The pic i have shown is the heat shield that has the oil stains. its actaully the entire engine.. depressing. Dr. Sud

I have about 5600 miles on mine and I have no oil leakage problem.
But man oh man, I would absolutely freak out if I saw my engine out
like that
They should give you a new one
