Illuminated Cup Holders?
Does the 2006 GS have illuminated cup holders? I tried searching ClubLexus, Toyota / Lexus / Scion Pressroom, and Lexus.com, but I couldn't find any evidence of them.

There is an additional LED next to the overhead courtesy light that casts ambient light onto the center console and shifter, plus foot well LED's.

RE: illumination
The GS does not have illumination inside the cup holder area, but you will find it in many other locations. It is apparent that Lexus spent a great deal of effort in the sequential illumination for the GS. For example, the console has inside LED illumination, along with all the door release lever compartments, under each seat / footwell; plus overhead illumination for the steering wheel, center console, a spot light on each seat / seatbelt, each door sill has a combination red / white entry lamp, glove box & ashtray, LED puddle lamps under the side mirrors, each air vent thumb wheel has an LED built into the ****; an LED on the access door button for secondary controls, steering wheel controls have backlit illumination (a bit dim), ignition start button, and others I may have missed. As someone else pointed out, there are numerous other touches, e.g. the coin tray built into the access door, electro chromatic device for the gage cluster illumination, white LEDs on the rear license plate, etc.
Although some have commented that the LED illuminaton is dim, consider that they feature a very long service life, and should never need replacement!

mm9351 ... Thanks for the very informative post. I had no idea that the 3GS had LEDs in all those places. Roughly six more months left until my 2007 GS 350 AWD comes out ( hopefully they'll go by quickly ).
