Turn off DRL on 06 GS&IS by Lexus dealer.
I know so many of the 06 GS & IS owners wanted to turn off their DRL. This function can be done by using the Lexus scan at the dealer. This personalize/customization function will not list on the dealer personalize item sheet. The tech will have to navigate to get to this point.
From the main menu of the scan tool.
Select customize, new vehicle( input the vehicle info), then select Individual change.
Follow the screen to Function Select and select 08:Light Control, and select DRL Function on the following screen.
The factory default is ON, so the tech just have to select off. It will take only 5 minutes to do it.
I hope you can see the attachtment I have to scan it and down size it.
From the main menu of the scan tool.
Select customize, new vehicle( input the vehicle info), then select Individual change.
Follow the screen to Function Select and select 08:Light Control, and select DRL Function on the following screen.

I asked several dealers in my area, but they all refused to turn it off for me. They all said it can't be turned off because its a safety feature blah blah blah.....
Anyone know any dealer in So. CA willing to turn off the DRL for customer??
My 06 IS looks so stupid with the DRL.

that's a great find...i may have to drive down to san diego to get my tech friend to do this for me.
BTW, this brings up another question, on my previous audi/vw cars, you can buy a program that basically emulates the factory scan tool. You buy the software w/ the OBDII plug and log on and you're able to do these software changes and log data on the car. Does anyone know if there's something like that available for the toyota/lexus cars?
