Hello everyone,

I am brand new to this forum. Was pretty much set on a new TL, then this weekend, went to test the GS. And, unfortunately for my bank account, I am sold.

Only thing is, my wife just has to have the Blue Onyx and the black interior. And as you probably know, it just doesnt come like that. She can't stand the tan interior, and has to have the blue.

So, after talking to what seemed like every single dealer in So Cal, I am confused. I have been told that I can custom order it, but it may take between 3 weeks to 5 months!

Has anyone actually custom ordered a car from Lexus? Can it possibly take 5 months to build a custom car? Does anyone happen to have one sitting around?

I'd love to have this combo, but I don't know if I can wait 5 months.


PS Here's what I'm looking for:

2006 GS 300 RWD, Blue Onyx, Black Interior, Mark L Navi, sunroof, vent seats, etc.

Blue Onyx with black leather is a combination they do offer. You dont have to cutom order it. The problem however is that that color combination is very rare so their production is limited. The highest color combo demand they predicted was blue onyx with tan and then blue onyx with ash. (grey leather), and then finally blue onyx with black interior.

Its a matter of locating one around if it is available. I personally have not seen a singel blue onyx with black interior. To be honest this was my second color choice. Why dont you take a look at the Flint Mica with black interior...i think you will be sold! lol And that is readily available.

But yea, i doubt you will be able to find a dealer who will be able to locate one because like i said - i have yet to see a blue onyx with black interior to date. They are out there - but very limited. So you may have to custom order it if you are dead set on that color. The dealer will ask you for a confirmed bid to purchase - meaning that you will buy the car upon the availability at the dealership. And yah you probably will have to wait on it for a while. Like i said, if that is a must color combo - then maybe you should, however I think you ought to consider flint Mica...its absolutely GORGEOUS!

Blue Onyx with black is available according to US website, maybe they can try locating one from other areas. I' ve seen Blue Onyx/Balck in person & it's very nice Maybe you can also consider Quartz Shadow with Black, Quartz is a dark Bluish Grey which looks very nice on the car .

I was sitting in a Blue Oynx GS430 with black interior today. It's in the showroom at Wilde Lexus in Sarasota, FL. They also have chromed oem 18s on it.

After doing some more research and reading, I've talked my wife into the black/black.

Thanks chuckb, but I just can't do the 430, and would hate to pay another grand for delivery.


Got my order in for a black/black on order for delivery in 2 weeks. Just can't wait 4-5 months.
