Change NAV destionation while in motion

My nav system has been buggy the last few weeks and can't obtain a satellite lock. My long time SA informed me that it's a known issue w/ my GS's nav version, and the fix is to either (1) unplug the battery and let the system reset when the issue appears or (2) install a new nav disc. However, the new disc won't allow for the override.

How to override NAV sytem. This is how I enabled the NAV System Features when Driving on my ES350. It should work on your GS too.

Still no onscreen override for Gen 5 Nav?
So I guess we're still unaware of any onscreen override for Gen 5 Nav? The salesman for my 07 IS350 said it was possible but that he couldn't legally show me how to do it. Anyone have luck with it yet?

Some info – Gen 5 Nav is the unit in your dash. DVD map disk 5.1 has the over ride, DVD map disk 6.1 does not have the over ride. If you check your DVD version probably it’s the 6.1. Check Jerfits post for the how to DVD map disk 6.1 over ride. Your DVD map disk drive is located in the glove box.

There has to be a way to cut the wires on a 07+ GS350 to input addresses while driving. I tihkn some people did this on the newere models, but I cant seem to find it. Ground a wire or something..... anyone know?

Same wire, the speed wire.
However, like I stated in the PM, your navigation won't be continuous if you simply disconnect the wire. The best thing to do is to install a physical switch between the two sliced wire and route that somewhere in the center console so you can flip it on and off.

Word to the wise. For all 2008 Lexus vehicles, the manual override doesn't work. You have to do the full Nav/DVD hack (taking apart the console, snipping wires, etc.) in order to have full use of the Nav system while the car is in motion. Big bummer.

It Is Pointless To Snip The Wire Because It Is An Important Part For You Navigation To Work , If You Disconnect To Speed Wire You Will Not Have An Accurate Navigation

Here's a try....
Hit MENU button on the right side of screen you should come to this window.
Click on Volume. Once in the Volume MENU, click on top left where the picture of the speaker is
Then Click on bottom left (I know there's nothing there but click on it
Then Click on top left again, the picture of the speaker
Then Click on the bottom left again
It should bring you the SERVICE MENU
Once here, click on OVERRIDE but keep holding it til you here a beep. Once you hear a beep, the OVERRIDE should be highlighted like below.
You MUST do this everytime you start your car. I have confirmed that this works on 2005 LS430 as well. Have not tried any other cars.
