it would be nice if the numbers like GS 350 meant 350hp and 460 means 460hp. and ES 330 offering a 330hp V6. of course toyota isnt going to duck a such thing, but it would be nice

Maybe this is an ignorant comment but isn't the 3.5 liter V6 that will supposedly be in the GS350 the same engine that's currently in the 2005 Toyota Avalon which produces 280hp. I could see the hp rating changing by 10 or 20 hp if they put the same engine in the GS350 but not 40 especially since the Avalon already has dual exhausts.

The Avalon engine is similar ... but not the same. The GS350 and IS350 will have the Avalon engine with different cylinder heads, along with direct injection. DI means that the engine needs stronger internals, and a higher compression ratio.

I wonder how many people here worrying about the more power will take it to the track

Well it seems Lexus is going to be heavily involved in the HP war. We know BMW has 7 new engines now (we only get one, the new 5.0 V-8) in the 750 that will be in the new 550. That has 350hp. The A6 and M45 have 335hp. The E500 has 302hp but I am sure that will get bumped soon.

And BMW will probably turbo their I-6 to meet IS 350 numbers....

All these fast cars on the public road= Indy 500 to work and back

I remember when 250hp was ALOT for a car. Remember the 1st gen LS400's 1UZ-FE V8 and a whopping 250hp? That was plenty 16 years ago. Imagine what it will be like in another 16 years from now at the rate we're going.

Yeah, its incredible. Now V-6s make that same power. But I would rather the V-8 even with equal power ratings.

Its amazing and incredible. The only thing is outside Lexus and BMW, most of these cars just get heavier and heavier where any power gain is hurt by more weight and mass.

That pinstriping looks as if Chip Foose himself did it on an episode of Rides. But where's the APC altezza taillights and the 24" carbon aluminum fibrerer wing?

Hi. New member here...i'm on the verge of pulling the trigger on a GS300...but after reading this post i'm wondering if I should just wait till fall for the 350. Is it truly confirmed that the 350 will come as an 07 model?

It's not confirmed officially that the GS350 will come to America as a 2007 model. We know the GS350 will be available this coming August/September in Japan though.

i'm on the same boat. almost purchased a gs3 rwd w/ML last night from lexus of glendale. now that i found this thread, i'm not so sure anymore.

now, when the 350 comes over to NA, how are prices going to be affected? will the 350 be priced right in between the 300 and the 430?

now i dont want the 300

Well, the 430 should be replaced by the 460 right around the same time as the 350 replacing the 300. There should be some kind of price increase for both, but it probably won't be exorbitant.

Of course, the halo of the GS line will be the 450h, which is uses the 3.5 with electric motors.

There is no such thing as a GS350 GT, those guys in that forum don't know what they're talking about & probably just pick off that name from outdated rumours from some old magazines.
There will be a GS350 that will be available in Japan this September with the 3.5 litre V6, & will likely make it here a year later(not officially confirmed). There will also be a GS450h hybrid, which will have the same 350 V6 engine, but mated with electric motors & will perform similar to a 4.5 litre V8 that will be available here May next year.
